The Cloud Mountain Pt. 1

Adam journeyed up the sacred cloud mountain in flipflops, engulfed by luscious and fruitful canopies. The mountain resides in the tropical rainforest which is known as The Yunque.  Adam noticed that he was surrounded by each imaginable size and shade of green. Natural pools of clear water were brightly tipped by the sunshine. That filtered the forests' colors to its surface. The air was heavy, humid, and warm and he was glad he was in flipflops. His shorts and shirt were drenched.

He had to skirt a fallen tree that completely covered the path. He neared the other side, his eyes spotted a beautiful creature of the forest. A white mink. Adam froze in awe and wonder. He was thankful that the rare marsupial granted him with the honor of reveling in his greatness. His clean white coat was magnificent, and the royal mink knew it. His presense brought life and energy to the forest.  They were enjoying each others presence in silence for a natural while when the mink decided to leave. With a flash of white the animal had gone and everything was green. Adam continued to climb upward towards the mountain's peak, discouraged in feeling that nothing else thay day could be nearly as exciting.

While resting at a natural spring, Adam cleaned his flipflops and set them out to dry. He tried to remember a story the local people told him. It was of a spanish tower made of stone sitting atop the highest point of the cloud mountain. From there it is said that you can see the heavens above the clouds. He wondered if he had followed the right path to the summit. Curiosity urging him further up, Adam found himself picking up speed despite the thinning of the air. As if reaching out to grab him, Adam was consumed by a great white mist and he was blinded. For half a minute this white wall surrounded him. Within moments after the forest was green again, Adam realized he was just inside a cloud. He urged on redetermined.
